Daring Cook - Edible Container

Renata of Testado, Provado & Aprovado! was our Daring Cooks’ April 2011 hostess. Renata challenged us to think “outside the plate” and create our own edible containers! Prizes are being awarded to the most creative edible container and filling, so vote on your favorite from April 17th to May 16th at http://thedaringkitchen.com/!

Here are my attempts at edible containers:

First I went for a homemade "bunny chow", my take on a traditional South African dish. Its normally made from half a loaf of bread which is hollowed out and filled with curry. And no South African dish would be authentic without Mrs Balls Chutney.

My second attempt was a mish mash of two British dishes: Cottage Pie within a Yorkshire Pudding. To up the vegetables stakes the mash was made of pototo, swede and carrot.

It looked a bit boring, so I had to add some colour and technically break the challenge rules.

Overall another fantastic Daring Cook Challenge. The Bunny Chow will definately be making another appearance on the dinner table very soon.
